What Does Tuition Cover?
Tuition covers not only the actual lesson time spent with the student but preparation time as well. It has been cited by professional music journals that for every hour enrolled in lessons, you are investing in at least 2 hours of the teacher’s time!
*Planning lessons, assignment sheets, handouts, worksheets, games, repertoire, & master classes
*Preparing for recitals & Junior Music Festival
*Training, experience, professional organization memberships, continuing education & self-employment taxes
*Bookkeeping, scheduling, office supplies, piano tuning, photocopying, time spent on emails, texts & phone calls
*Purchasing books and incentives
What is NOT Covered by Tuition?
*Fees for Junior Music Festival
*A metronome (you can get free metronome apps)
What Fees are Charged?
*Registration fee (one-time, non-refundable): $15.00
*Yearly music fee (non-refundable):
I purchase all core music for students. You will NOT be invoiced for any music. Please note that students may not do every song in their books. There are no additional costs for music unless you choose to buy additional music on your own. Please contact me to see if I can get it for you at a discount, though!
I am happy to generously lend the music from my library to students. Any items borrowed from the music library that are not returned or are returned damaged will be charged to the student at current replacement cost.
The yearly music fee includes registration in Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs, but it does NOT cover entry fees for Junior Music Festival. When it is time to sign up for Junior Music Festival you will receive a form letting you know the cost for participation in each event. Note the due date on the form.
*Late tuition fee: $15.00
I completely understand if a parent accidentally forgets a paycheck; however, because this is my job and income, please note that a $15.00 late fee will be added when payment is late. Personal check or cash will be accepted, but if a check is returned or any reason, those charges will be added to your fees and you must pay in cash thereafter.
How can I Pay you?
I accept checks payable to Lori Supernaw.
I do NOT charge by the lesson. Tuition is charged by the school year and paid in three installments. If you wish to pay by the month, please divide the payments into 4 equal installments and give me post-dated checks. Tuition does NOT change, regardless of the number of lessons in a month. NO refunds will be given.
Tuition reminders will be emailed approximately one week prior to the due date of each tuition payment. Families should expect a yearly price increase.
